Council members will take part in the processes of Student Government while making the most of their first-year experience. Through FLC, council members will also be able to develop and practice their understanding of leadership.

Freshman Leadership Council is governed by the following principles:

Here's what everyone is saying about FLC!

"Coming from Maryland I didn't know anyone at LSU much less anything about student government but by stepping out and going for FLC I made some awesome friends and connections, got plugged into some great aspects of campus life, and felt like LSU was my home from the start." - Brian Baudoin, FLC Member ('08-'09)

"FLC was very beneficial and influential for my freshman year at LSU. I learned so much, and was able to get a good understanding of LSU Student Government. I was able to make some great friends and participate in some amazing events. This is a great organization for anyone interested in becoming involved in Student Government, or just wanting to make an impact at LSU." - Corey Fine, FLC Member ('08 - '09)

"FLC is 100% what you want to get from it. Some chose to not participate, but I took advantage of the opportunities for community service and involvement and activism. I was inspired by the driven people I met. They made me want to be a better leader myself. Most importantly, I was opened to the MANY ways to be active on campus and in life. It's not about a title but about motivation and following your passions. I love the friends I made and the fun things we were able to do during our time as FLC members." -Kale Wetekamm, FLC Member ('07-'08)

"The Freshman Leadership Council is an outlet for outstanding and passionate young freshmen to meet, organize, plan, brainstorm, develop, and thrive. When you are constantly surrounded by other like-minded students who care about the university, the environment breeds success!"
 - Melissa Landry, FLC Member ('07-'08)
